Stage Fright- The Tribute to Horror Musicals! Camp

Welcome to Making Light’s “Fright Night – Tribute to Horror Musicals!” a thrilling two-week musical theatre summer camp designed for aspiring performers aged 8 and up. Dive into the spine-tingling world of musicals like “Carrie,” “Beetlejuice,” “The Addams Family,” “Little Shop of Horrors,” “Jekyll and Hyde,” and “Sweeney Todd” as we unleash the magic of the macabre on stage. “Fright Night” campers meet every weekday afternoon, 12:30 – 5:30 PM, June 3-14.

(Campers who wish to spend a full day with us can register for the MLP’s morning camp – 8:45 – 12:30 – during this session, Let’s Make a Horror Movie film camp.)

Making Light’s “Fright Night” camp takes place on our campus at 2720 Blair Stone Road. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, participants will explore the art of musical theatre through engaging workshops, vocal training, and choreography sessions, as they rotate between work in our dance studio, fully accessible theatre and music classrooms. Unleash your inner ghoul as you bring iconic characters to life, mastering the art of both the haunting and harmonious.

Throughout the two weeks, campers will immerse themselves in the eerie ambiance of classic horror musicals, developing their acting, singing, and dancing skills. As they work collaboratively with fellow campers, they’ll cultivate confidence and creativity in a supportive and spirited environment.

The culmination of their efforts will be showcased in a thrilling performance at the end of the camp, on Friday, June 14, when family and friends are invited to witness the spectacular fusion of fright and musical finesse. It’s an unforgettable experience that promises to leave both performers and the audience with chills, laughter, and a newfound appreciation for the spookier side of musical theatre. “Fright Night – Tribute to Horror Musicals!” is the perfect stage for young talents to shine in a wickedly entertaining showcase that will be talked about long after the curtain falls!
