Let's Make TV Commercials! Camp

Welcome to the Making Light Productions’ “Let’s Make TV Commercials” Summer Camp, where creativity meets comedy! Over two exhilarating weeks, young minds will embark on a journey into the world of television advertising. Our camp is designed to inspire and unleash the comedic genius within each camper.

The camper/filmmakers in “Let’s Make TV Commercials” camp meet each weekday morning 8:45-12:30, June 17-28. (Campers who wish to spend the whole day with us can also sign up for the afternoon Broadway Rocks musical theatre camp.)

Week 1 of “Let’s Make TV Commercials” kicks off with brainstorming sessions where campers collaborate on crafting hilarious concepts for TV commercials. From quirky product ideas to memorable catchphrases, the campers will learn the art of comedic writing with the guidance of experienced instructors. Through interactive workshops, they’ll delve into the nuances of script-writing, mastering the art of timing and punchlines.

In Week 2, it’s lights, camera, action! Armed with their side-splitting scripts, campers will transition from writers to directors as they film their very own commercials. Our state-of-the-art equipment ensures a professional touch, giving campers the chance to experience the full production process. From acting to behind-the-scenes roles, every camper plays a vital part in bringing their comedic vision to life.

The grand finale of Let’s Make a TV Commercial is the “red carpet premiere” on Friday, June 28, where campers proudly showcase their commercials and jingles to family and friends. It’s a celebration of laughter, teamwork, and the incredible talent that flourished during these two unforgettable weeks!
