Board of Directors

COCA Board members are appointed by the Mayor of the City of Tallahassee (City appointments) or by the Leon County Commission (County appointments). If you would like to receive more information, or nominate someone (or yourself) to serve on COCA’s Board of Directors, please contact Hillary Crawford at hillary@tallahasseearts.org or call 850-224-2500. Nominations are accepted year-round.

COCA is currently accepting applications for a Board of Directors seat representing the following specific areas of expertise:

Business (City appointment)

Click here to submit an application for this City appointed Board seat.

If you’re interested in serving, applications will be accepted through June 30, 2022.

COCA’s Board represents a diverse wealth of knowledge and includes citizens with expertise in the following areas: finance, marketing, volunteerism, history/heritage, practicing artist, tourism, and business. A current list of Board members is available by clicking here.

The COCA Board typically meets five times each year with occasional additional special meetings scheduled.

COCA bylaws stipulate that a Board member may not miss more than a third of the meetings in a given year.

The COCA Board is a policy board. Members make decisions regarding funding and oversee the strategic and operational planning of the organization. We encourage Board members to become members of COCA but there are no fundraising requirements. The Board’s main role is to uphold the Section 265.32 of the Florida Statutes and to advocate for the organization and the larger cultural community.

Please contact Hillary Crawford at hillary@tallahasseearts.org or call 850-224-2500 for more information.

COCA is committed to promoting arts and culture in all its forms, and through its programs, seeks ways to promote the area’s diverse range of artists, culture events, and traditions. To view COCA’s online features, such as the Artist Directory, the cultural attractions in our area, and ways to get involved in the arts, visit www.tallahasseearts.org. COCA also maintains a calendar or local arts, cultural and heritage events in our community at www.tallahasseearts.org.
