Leon County "Art of the Box" Call to Artists

KCCI is commissioning local artists to transform five utility boxes into three-dimensional artwork through the Art of the Box Program.  These public infrastructures provide canvases to enhance streetscapes while fostering excitement and building a unique sense of place for residents, students, and visitors. Digitally capturing images onto vinyl enables the transformation of two-dimensional artworks into outdoor three-dimensional murals for all to enjoy.

Student, emerging, or professional artists are invited to submit original art to be featured on Leon County Utility Boxes (UB). There is no application fee for artists. The UB vinyl wraps will be installed at no cost to artists. Stipends of $200 and $500 will be awarded to the selected artists. The stipend for sites with one box will be $200, and the artist selected for the sites with multiple boxes will be awarded $500.

Artists who would like to be considered for the sites with multiple boxes should submit artwork with a cohesive theme that translates across the boxes. See the attached Call to Artists document for more details.
