I have always been drawn to wildlife painting and drawing. I received my Master of Fine Arts from Florida State University in 1978. After graduating, I worked 38 years for the State of Florida in the technology field and did not pick up a paintbrush until I retired.
Since my retirement, I am enjoying painting again and choose the watercolor medium because of the luminosity of its colors. I like to paint creatures that have interesting shapes, colors, patterns and textures. I use color to bring attention to the focus of the painting and to establish an emotional connection with the animal. I hope my paintings will allow viewers to see wild animals from a different perspective.
