After earning a degree in art education from FSU, Kathleen Wilcox turned her attention to enamel work. By fusing glass to metal through a firing process, she creates artworks with gemlike surfaces, brilliant colors, and varied textures. Her work is acclaimed all over the Southeast and is included in private and public collections. She has received many honors, has been featured in numerous publications, and is a member of several professional organizations related to her craft. Sought after as an educator, Wilcox has served on the faculty of Arrowmont School of Arts & Crafts for nearly 10 years and has hosted dozens of workshops for local adults and children. She has volunteered with many Leon County schools, organized special art projects, and assisted with exhibitions and murals.
