I have been working with the medium of vitreous enamel since 1976, either creating enamel art pieces or teaching enameling. Enamel is a powdered glass that is fused to metal. I apply and fire my enamel work in many separate layers in a 1500 kiln. I approach the many enamel techniques through methods of drawing, painting, printing and collage.   2. I had the good fortune to take a workshop given by Kathy at the Enamelist Society conference. She is a fantastic instructor and artist. She was super prepared with detailed handouts and inspiring samples and everyone had a fulfilling and valuable week learning from her. She is super nice, super creative and super available with suggestions and solutions to technical and artistic considerations.
