Big Bend Community Orchestra
The Big Bend Community Orchestra (BBCO) provides opportunities for community musicians to learn and play orchestral music together, encourages school age children to become interested in music through educational programs, and performs orchestral music for the public. The BBCO is affiliated with Tallahassee Community College and is led by Conductor, Dr. Shelby Chipman, Conductor, and Lisa M. Foltz, Associate Conductor. The orchestra consists of more than fifty volunteer musicians and includes professionals, homemakers, music teachers, and students. The orchestra rehearses most Thursday evenings at TCC September through April and performs three concerts, usually in November, February, and April. The BBCO also provides several sight reading sessions during the summer which are open to any interested string players and wind and percussion players when parts are available (regular BBCO members are given priority, but are sometimes not available during the summer). Come and join us as a player or in the audience for our concerts!
