Tallahassee Clay Arts Ceramic Studio Tour 2018

Call to Artists

Event Date: Saturday November 17^th 10 am – 4 pm

Tallahassee Clay Arts is excited to announce its annual ceramic studio tour Saturday November 17, 2018.  This group show is a collection of individual home studio shows focused on selling handmade ceramic items.    Ceramic artists that have a large inventory of pottery or sculpture that are interested in hosting a show at their home should apply.   Hosts can invite other artists to their show, but only one response from each location is needed.  All materials are due no later than SEPTEMBER 15^th.   The tour will spotlight ceramics arts and is free to the public.

The Host is the primary contact with Tallahassee Clay Arts and is the person that organizes their home studio event.   All ceramic artists at the location must be current Tallahassee Clay Arts members as of September 15th.  Artists that are not ceramicists are not obligated to join Tallahassee Clay Arts.  Annual Membership is $35 a year.

By September 15th, the Host must provide in an email to suestelzmann@comcast.net

• Name and Address of Studio/Home with Host contact information (Name, phone, email, website if applicable)
• A 150-word description of the studio/location and the type of experience people can expect
• A list of all artists and their contact information (full name, phone number, website, and email)
• A brief description of the work of each artists
• A minimum of three but no more than five photographs of the work that is representative of what will be for sale at the location. TIFF or JPG - not a thumbnail.
• TCA will verify membership of all listed ceramic artists.

Images featured on our Studio Tour postcards and print media need to be of the highest quality.  Tallahassee Clay Arts will have a FREE PHOTO SHOOT Wednesday, September 12th from 6 to 9 pm for anyone that needs this service.   We’ll have a photographer with product shoot experience on board to help us get the picture right.    See insert below for guidance on creating your own images.

Agreement between Host, ceramic artists and Tallahassee Clay Arts

When you agree to be in this show, you agree to share the work of advertisement.   Tallahassee Clay Arts will provide postcards, maps, posters/flyers, digital images and logos you can use on social media.   In addition, TCA will pay for a radio advertisement on WFSU and post in COCA, the Democrat and other news outlets.   Each location is expected to have directional signage (provided by TCA) and install them Friday evening.  Your location should be open to the public and presentable from 10 am to 4 pm on November 17^th.    As a guide, each ceramic artist at your location is expected to distribute 50 postcards, post five flyers in public locations and announce their show on Facebook or social media.   During the show, each site must have printed maps of the tour and should encourage visits to other locations.
