The Harpo Foundation was established in 2006 to support artists who are underrecognized. The foundation also seeks to stimulate creative inquiry and to encourage new modes of thinking about art.
To that end, the foundation is accepting applications for its Grants for Visual Artists program. Through the annual program, grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded to artists 21 years or older who are underrecognized.
To be eligible, applicants must be self-defined as a visual artist, be at least 21 years, and be a citizen of the United States.
The foundation will begin accepting applications on February 26. There is a $15 application fee.
For complete program guidelines, information about previous grant recipients, and application instructions, see the Harpo Foundation website.
