Throughout the year, COCA hosts a series of free, professional development workshops for the community. COCA Workshops are open to the public and all are welcome to attend. No registration is required. All workshops are hosted at the COCA offices, 816 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd from 4-6pm.

This month's workshop will be hosted by Beth Blair who will be presenting on the topic of fundraising. Her fundraising workshop will focus on real non-profit fundraising situations in which she has served in an advisory role. She will customize the discussion to focus on questions that are of immediate concern to the participants.

About Beth Blair

Beth Blair spent her professional career as a public relations and fundraising executive. She was director of development for the performing arts (Colleges of Music and Theater) at Florida State University from 1986-1990. In 1990 she was selected as director of development at the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital Foundation and soon promoted to vice president of the foundation (its executive director) and a member of the executive staff of TMH, a position in which she served for five years. Subsequently, she led fundraising campaigns for Three Servicemen Statue South and Weems Memorial Hospital after a move to Franklin County, Florida. In retirement, she served as Vice President for Fundraising on the Theatre Tallahassee Board of Directors during a successful push to complete a campaign to fund the renovation of the Studio Theater, dressing rooms and offices at the theater.

  1. I am a librarian with the State Library of Florida and I wanted COCA to know that the State Library has the Foundation Directory Online for searching for grants for non-profits. Anyone can use the Foundation Directory Online in the library. We are located on the second floor of the R.A. Gray Buidling. We are open Monday thru Friday from 9AM to 4:30, and one Saturday a month from 9AM to 3PM.
