Funding - DEADLINE :
City of Tallahassee Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Downtown Special Event Grant Program

The City of Tallahassee Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) has authorized $75,000 to help fund the Fiscal Year 2019 Promotional & Special Event Grant and Large Event Grant Programs. The Downtown (DT) Promotional & Special Event Grant Program has been approved for $20,000 and the DT Large Event Grant Program has been approved for $55,000. The events for both programs must take place within the DT District of the Community Redevelopment Area.

The purpose of both programs is to provide support to special events that promote the goals and objectives of the Downtown Redevelopment Plan. The DT Promotional & Special Event Grant Program is intended to cater to smaller events taking place in the DT District. The DT Large Event Grant Program caters to larger events that generate hotel stays through the attraction of a regional audience (including attendees from other states) and generate economic activity within the DT District.

The grant funds for both programs will be available to qualified not-for-profit organizations that will host Promotional & Special Events or Large Events during Fiscal Year 2019, which started on October 1, 2018 and ends on September 30, 2019 within the DT District.

For DT Promotional & Special Event Grants - The maximum grant award per application is $5,000, with no minimum grant award.

For DT Large Event Grants – The maximum grant award is $25,000 per application, with first-time events being eligible for a maximum grant of $40,000. The minimum grant award is $10,000.

Applications will be accepted beginning at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2019. The application period will end at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, unless extended by the CRA. Applications will be reviewed and scored based on a competitive process with the highest scored applications being funded. Program details, including the applications and guidelines are available at Talgov.com/CRA or may be picked up in person from the CRA office, located on the third floor of City Hall, 300 S. Adams Street.

The CRA will host a Pre-Application Workshop for those not-for-profit organizations interested in applying for grant funding under either grant program. The workshop will be held on Tuesday, January 15, from 6-8 p.m. in the second floor conference room of the Frenchtown Renaissance Center, located at 435 N. Macomb Street. Attendance at the pre-application workshop is not required but is strongly encouraged.

If you have any questions about the grant program, please review the information at Talgov.com/CRA or call the CRA office at 850-891-8357.
