We are hoping to shoot a 22-minute thriller in the style of something Ashley Judd would have made back in the 90s, a la KISS THE GIRLS or DOUBLE JEOPARDY.  The basic premise involves a women's self-defense instructor trying to track down a trio of serial rapists who may or may not exist.  It would be shot on weekends, and would require at least six total shooting days over a period of a few months.  Obviously, we can't shoot anything at present due to the current pandemic situation.  But we'd like to see if we can cast it.  This would shoot in the vicinity of Tallahassee, FL.  Copy, credit, food, some pay.

Roles needed:
Jane (30)--a martial arts/women's self-defense instructor who has a bad habit of thinking she can solve everybody's problems.  Very much a straight arrow, with all the strengths and weaknesses that brings.  Martial experience preferred, obviously, but we primarily need an actress who can handle a strong dramatic role and an all-out fight scene.  ($200 stipend, you're in every scene, you've got two fights.)
Caitlin--(20-25)--a sexual assault victim to whom Jane promised (a but rashly) that she would bring her attackers to justice.  It's been three years, and no luck.  Then one morning, Caitlin walks into Jane's dojo, says she just saw her attackers, and wants Jane's help to catch them or kill them.   ($150 stipend, can't tell you yet whether you'll live or not)
Mike (30s-40s)--police detective who enjoys being jaded.  Every amateur crimefighter has a friend on the force who is also a little bit sick of them,  This is Jane's.  (Two scenes, $75 stipend)
Joe (early 20s)--face of an angel hiding the heart of a monster.  Need an actor who can hijack the movie for five minutes, and lose in a big fight with our heroine.  ($100 stipend, one scene, but could take 2-3 days).

If you're interested, email John Stevenson at "johndavidstevenson@gmail.com".  We'll send you a copy of the script and a few sides.  If you'd like to audition, you can record yourself doing one of the sides and send us a link to your version of the character.  Or hopefully, this pandemic will pass and we can just have an open audition.
