The 56th Bay Annual Competition & Exhibition is open to artists in 16 counties who work in fine art media with the exception of photography (our photography competition is in the fall). All works MUST be original, no reproductions, no exceptions.

ELIGIBILITY

The 56th Bay Annual Exhibition is open to all artists over the age of eighteen residing in Bay, Calhoun, Escambia, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Wakulla, Walton or Washington County. There are no age restrictions.

HOW TO ENTER

You may submit up to (2) works of art to be considered to be part of the 56th Bay Annual. Submission deadline is Wednesday, April 24, 2019. Notification of acceptance will be on April 26, 2019.

There is a non-refundable entry fee of $25 for current members and $50 for non-members. The entry fee allows the artist to enter up to two (2) different works for this competition.

If accepted, your work must get to the Center for the Arts no later than April 29, 2019.

Your submission should include the following:

  • A high-quality image of each of the works (up to 2) that you intend to submit for the Competition
  • List of images: Title(s) of work, Medium, Size, Retail Price (if the work is for sale)
    Artist Name and Statement and/or Bio

SPECIFICATIONS

1. The 56th Bay Annual Competition & Exhibition includes all fine art media with the exception of photography. All works MUST be original, no reproductions, no exceptions. All entries must be produced within the last two years and not previously exhibited at the Center for the Arts.

2. No entries may depict copyrighted images, characters, logos, unless the copyright is owned by the artist. The only exception is if it is a parody, which is allowed under the ‘Fair Use’ policy.

3. All works must be marked with title and name and be wired ready to hanging.

4. Maximum size for 2-D works is 60” x 60”. All works over 22” x 30” must be reinforced and braced top to bot- tom and/or side to side.

5. 3-D works must fit through a doorway of 81” in height by 46” in width. No entry can exceed 50 lbs. All 3-Dworks are required to have a display base. Center for the Arts has a limited number of display bases available, so please reserve them ahead time.

6. Accepted entries will be received on Saturday, April 27 and Monday, April 29, 10AM–5PM.

7. Works will be juried prior to judging. Artists selected for the show will be notified via phone. Your phone num-ber is required.

8. Nudes are acceptable. Graphic violence and/or lewd sexual content prohibited.

9. Artists must pick up their artwork after the show is completed. There will be a storage fee of $5/day for all work left after June 3, 2019.

SIGNIFICANT DATES

  • DEADLINE TO SUBMIT: April 24, 2019
  • April 25 & 26: Notification of accepted artwork for 56th Bay Annual
  • April 27 & 29: Art Intake 10AM–5PM Saturday & Monday
  • Friday, May 3: Opening Reception from 6–8PM, Awards Ceremony at 7:00PM
  • Saturday, May 4: Open to the Public
  • Friday, May 31: Last day to view the 56th Bay Annual Exhibit
  • Saturday, June 1: Pick up artwork 10 am to 4:30PM
