Wheel Throwing 1

Presented by LeMoyne Arts at Studios of LeMoyne

We will focus on mastering the foundational skill of throwing clean, even cylinders and expand into new forms such as bowls and plates. Students will also work on refining their trimming skills to ensure a clean and functional finished pot. Each class meeting will have a specific focus and students can expect to complete 8-10 pieces. Reflections and Reckoning: Brown v. Board of Education at 70.

The Brown v. Board of Education decision, issued unanimously by the Supreme Court of the United States on May 17, 1954, was a watershed in American jurisprudence. We take a look back at the circumstances that compelled the five groups of plaintiffs in the case and the impact that the decision had on our community and throughout the South, then and today.
