Who We Are
The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.
Incorporated locally in 1989, NAMI Tallahassee provides support groups including, Connection Support Group (for people with mental health conditions), Family Support Group (for family and loved ones of people with mental health conditions), Young Adult Support Group (for people ages 18-25 that want to support their mental wellness), and LGBT+ Support Group (for people who identify with the LGBT+ community who want to support their mental wellness).

We also offer educational classes, such as Family-to-Family (for family and loved ones for people with mental health conditions), Homefront (for family and loved ones of military service members and veterans with mental health conditions), and Basics (for parents, guardians and other family caregivers who provide care for youth who are experiencing mental health symptoms).
To tackle destigmatization of mental health, we also lead the following presentations and community conversations: In Our Own Voice presentation (to promote awareness of mental health conditions and recovery), Ending the Silence presentation (for middle and high schoolers to learn about the signs and symptoms of mental health conditions), Sharing Your Story with Law Enforcement (helping local law enforcement with Crisis Intervention Training), Sharing Hope (for raising awareness of mental health in local POC communities), and Faithnet (for raising awareness of mental health in faith-based communities).
