Thomasville Music and Drama Troupe 2019 Christmas Show

The Thomasville Music and Drama Troupe is a group of nearly 100 singing teen entertainers made up of students from area middle and high schools across southwest Georgia.  The group provides an outlet for creative expression and plays a meaningful, positive role in the lives of the area’s youth.

The Troupe traces its history back to 1972 when Fred Allen, having recently relocated to Thomasville after a decade in New York, envisioned a group that would allow him to share his talents and experiences with a small group of young people. With 20 charter members and wife, Winnie, by his side, Allen began sharing skills gained from an education at the prestigious Juilliard School, professional experience on the New York stage and a career as an artist and repertory producer with RCA Records.

The Troupe has performed for audiences of 50 to 50,000, with performances at the White House (most recently in 2012), Walt Disney World, New York’s Shea Stadium, an Atlanta Falcons football game and a tour of England.

The annual Christmas Show is a much anticipated event that kicks off the Holiday Season in Thomasville. The show features a wide range of holiday music from classical to contemporary genres. Directed by Stephanie Hart, the show will encompass traditional choral singers, ensembles, dancers, instrumentalists and featured soloists performing upon the backdrop of live music and a stunning set.
