Second Saturday Family Program: A Little Princess

This event is part of the WWI Film Festival
On November 11, 1918, The Great War ended. To commemorate this historic event, three of Tallahassee’s landmark sites will show and talk about award-winning World War I films.

1. In collaboration with the Tallahassee Film Society, on November 9 at 6:30 p.m., for $5.00, the Knott House Museum will have an outdoor showing of the 1940 film The Fighting 69th starring James Cagney. Kurt Piehler from the Florida State University World War II Institute will discuss the history surrounding the film and the time between the two world wars. Free popcorn is provided and drinks are for sale.

2. On November 10 at 11:00 a.m. the Museum of Florida History (500 South Bronough Street) will show the 1995 family movie, The Little Princess free of charge. Hands-on family activities will accompany the show.

3, On November 11 at 2:00 p.m., the All Saints Cinema at 918 Railroad Avenue will offer All Quiet on the Western Front (1930) for a $5.00 entrance fee. Refreshments are available for purchase. Beloved historian Jim Jones will give background before the film.
