History at High Noon: The Sunshine State and Radio Waves

Since May 1948, WFSU Radio has been transmitting news, music, and opinions across the sunny skies of Florida State University and beyond. Life across the United States changed dramatically when radio became part of the American way of life, and this is so true in our Floridian life as well. Join our speakers for a quick time travel of Florida’s radio history, beginning in 1922 when the Tampa Daily Times tells readers, “Stand by, fans, to the Times test radio broadcast on WDAE-AM,” right up to what’s new on Capitol Report and this week’s Perspectives.
