Four local playwrights–Bert A. Mitchell, Michelle R. Nickens; Beth Blair, and Bev DeMello–introduce six original new plays during the weekend event, March 20-March 22. These will consist of staged readings with audience Q&A.
FOUR FRIENDS WITH THE WRITE STUFF. Six original plays by local playwrights will have staged readings by local actors March 20-March 22 at the Monticello Opera House, 185 W. Washington Street, in Monticello. Bert A. Mitchell’s “Awkward U.S.A.” will be read at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Michelle R. $15 for the weekend of shows or $8 for one evening. Tickets are available online now, and will be available for purchase at the door starting one hour before each performance.
A full bar featuring beer, wine, and cocktails and accepting cash or credit card will be available during all performances.

There is plenty of street parking around the building on all sides. There is also a large city lot across from the courthouse. After hours (after 5 pm) the Monticello News allows us to make use of their lot. Street parking around the back of the building is also available.
