Call for Submissions: This exhibition centers trans* people as it invites artists to create and submit work that stands in solidarity with the trans* community. One of the goals of the exhibition is to celebrate and make trans* people’s experiences more visible as we seek to combat their exclusion and erasure from various aspects of society. Another goal of the exhibition is to remember the courage and resilience members of the trans* community have shown in the face of various institutions and systems of oppression. This exhibition asks artists to reflect on the experiences, representations, identities, and/or politics of being transgender.

We welcome submissions that engage a variety of topics including but not limited to:
*trans* embodiment
*ethical and/or legal concerns for trans* persons
*trans* experiences at the intersections of race, class, sexuality, (dis)ability, nationality, coloniality, etc.
*trans* advocacy and allyship

The exhibition will be virtual as well as in-person, so we welcome a number of artistic submissions including, but not limited to, paintings, drawings, mixed media, 2D and 3D art pieces, photography, digital art, video/recorded performance art, music submissions, short literary selections, etc. Artists should submit their pieces for consideration by October 20, 2021. All submissions must be original work to the artist. Artists can choose to have their artwork in the virtual exhibit, physical exhibit, or both.
