The Florida Department of State will be soliciting grant applications for African-American Cultural and Historical resources. The purpose of this grant program is to provide funding for fixed capital outlay projects at facilities in Florida that highlight the contributions, culture, or history of African-Americans.

  • Applicant Organizations may request up to $500,000 or up to $1,000,000 with 50 percent matching funds from other sources.
  • There is no minimum request amount.

This funding was made possible by funding allocated from the legislature from the American Rescue Plan. Applications will be available from October 11, 2021, through November 30, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. (Eastern).

To apply, visit their website at dosgrants.com. Applicants will need a user profile and to be associated with the organization they represent. Prospective applicants are highly encouraged to consult the Grants page of the Florida Division of Arts and Culture website to consult program information and guidelines.

Eligibility:

  • Florida public entity or a Non-profit Organization
  • Must own property or have permission from the property owner
  • The owner must be a public entity or a Non-profit Organization
  • An eligible Applicant Organization may lease state-owned land or building(s) or both.
