Funding to Host Humanities Speakers Available

Florida Humanities is offering to subsidize public speakers delivering lectures on Florida’s history, heritage and culture. An approved list of speakers is available here.

Only Florida nonprofit organizations, local municipalities, cultural and civic organizations, and educational entities are eligible to host Florida Talks programs.

Florida Humanities will:

• Pay a $300 honorarium directly to the speaker
• Provide the applicant with marketing kits and survey materials.
• Provide up to $250 in travel reimbursement if:
  • The applicant’s operating budget is $250,000 or less
  • The program is in-person.

The applicant would be responsible for all other costs related to the speaker program.

Applications are due six weeks ahead of the planned speaking engagement.
