The Fort San Luis Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (FSLDAR) is pleased to announce that DAR has allotted $250,000 in funding for the 2024-2025 Historic Preservation Grants to support local historic preservation.
Beginning August 1, 2024, charitable 501 (c)(3) organizations may apply for grants. Projects should be tangible and long-lived, with lasting historic preservation benefit. Examples of projects considered for funding include:
  • Restoration of historic buildings,
  • Digitization or preservation of historic documents,
  • Preservation of historic artifacts;
  • Restoration, rededication or relocation of existing historical sites’ markers; and
  • Cemetery headstone and monument conservation
The maximum grant award is $10,000; smaller projects are encouraged. Applicants are required to match the grant award 1:1. This match must be in cash and cannot be donated services or in-kind supports.

 Projects must begin and be completed within the grant year. The applicant may be a single organization or multiple organizations. One of the organizations must be a registered 501 (c)(3).

 Applications for the round of grants to be awarded in May 2025 will be accepted August 1 – October 31, 2024Grants are now submitted online via the Historic Preservation Grant Portal

Each application must have a sponsorship letter from a DAR chapter regent or a state regent. To get a sponsorship letter from us, contact the FSLDAR Historic Preservation Committee by September 15, 2024. This letter of intent may be emailed to grants.fsldar@gmail.com.
