Data Collection Volunteer Opportunity (with honorarium)

The non-profit organization Arts and Cultural Experiences at Railroad Square (ACERS) is seeking a few reliable volunteers on April 5 and May 3, 2024, to help us collect important attendance data at First Fridays at Railroad Square.  Priority will be given to individuals who can attend both events.  An honorarium of $50 in the form of a Target Gift Card will be available for qualified candidates who fully participate for the entirety of the time commitment.

Description of Duties:

All volunteers may be expected to engage in both roles (listed below) throughout the evening. However, if you only feel comfortable with one of the two roles, let us know and you may still be considered.

Crowd CountersVolunteers will be stationed at three strategic points in Railroad Square and will use clickers to count individuals for the duration of 15-minute intervals.  Requires a strong ability to sustain attention/focus, and attention to detail.

Surveyors: Volunteers will mingle with attendees and collect basic information via verbal survey.  Volunteers must be friendly, outgoing,  conversational, and speak English fluently.  Volunteers will submit their findings through a google form as information is collected. Must provide your own (charged) phone or tablet or I-Pad for use to record information as you collect it.

When: Friday, April 5th and Friday, May 3rd, from 5 PM until 8:30 PM
Where: Railroad Square Art District (specific meeting location to be shared upon acceptance)

Please note that this is an active volunteer experience that requires 3.5 hours of consistent involvement.

Note on Weather Cancellation and Thank You Gift:

Please note that this volunteer opportunity will be canceled or shortened if there is inclement weather.  Should the volunteer opportunity be cancelled, the "thank you" gift will not be available.  Should the volunteer opportunity be shortened, a reduced amount will be provided, if less of your time is required.

How to Apply:

Contact ACERS Director, Rebekah Hair-Stewart, for more information and to secure your spot by emailing director@railroadsquare.org.  Provide your name, cell phone number, and availability (one evening or both), and resume or CV (if you do not yet have one, you may instead write a paragraph about yourself and why you would be well-suited for this role).
