Costume Assistants Needed for Cascades Park Shakespeare Production
Southern Shakespeare seeks volunteers for the Bardlings’ downtown Tallahassee, FL production of The Tempest in the following roles:
- Costumes Assistants (2) to support our professional costume designers with organization, cleaning, repairs, storage.
Costume Assistants will have the opportunity to shadow the professional costume designer; practice skills of tailoring and mending; learn how to anticipate and manage the needs of technical rehearsals and performances; and gain experience with the backstage rhythms and teamwork at a unique theatrical event.
The time commitment for these roles begins no sooner than April 29 and will be ~24 hours total, including:
- Tech rehearsals on-site and outdoors at Cascades Park’s Adderley Amphitheatre.
- Tuesday, May 7
- Wednesday, May 8
- Saturday, May 11 (the morning prior to performance #1, below)
- Two one-hour performances at 5:30 PM (plus pre- and post-show organization, clean-up) outdoors at the Adderley Amphitheater
- Saturday, May 11
- Sunday, May 12
