Melissa Gonzalez-Lopez is a Cuban artist working primarily in ceramics and printmaking, with a focus on the intersection of both mediums. Her art practice covers a broad range of topics around the overall themes of memory, time, and sense of place emanating from her experience as an immigrant artist. In her current ceramics research, Melissa experiments with home-made paper clay sculptures, functional pottery, image-transfer techniques, glaze chemistry and discovering local wild clay. She is also a co-creator of Tally Print Studio with Amy Alonso.
