I am currently a BFA student at Florida State University. I love to explore all types of art including ceramics, sculpture, drawing, and photography. In my art practice, I like to explore concepts of dystopian societies and how our world may become due to human-caused disasters such as climate change and rising sea levels. In my own personal work, I like to explore self-portraiture and the idea of self while making them. I do this by exploring my state of mind and how I am feeling about myself during the time of making my self-portraits, by doing so I am able to document my artistic skills at the time of the portrait but also my sense of self. In my personal work, I also like to include an eye (or eyes) staring out. I do this because I like to play with the idea of the artwork creepily observing the viewer to make my audience feel unsettled or watched. I feel like the unsettling watchfulness of the eye or eyes in my piece has become a personal motif to create a unified eeriness to my pieces.
