Join COCA every month for an informal get together for Art Entrepreneurs!

We want to offer a supportive space for the arts entrepreneur community to come together to share their goals, challenges, and achievements. Everyone could use a little support in their lives and we are happy to help contribute. This month’s event will be held on August 17, 2018 from 10:00am-12:00pm at COCA.

This month’s guest speaker is local creative entrepreneur, Nathan Archer. Nathan will discuss his entrepreneurial journey and what it is like to balance all of the aspects of being a working creative.

Nathan Archer is a research communicator and editorial cartoonist residing in Tallahassee, Florida. Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, Nathan received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2000, before obtaining a Master of Arts degree in arts administration from Florida State University in 2006.

Having sharpened his communications and marketing skills throughout the non-profit and public sector, he currently works for the Florida Center for Reading Research, disseminating research findings in an effort to promote literacy across the state and region.

A passionate arts and free speech advocate, Nathan uses editorial cartooning to voice his own opinions online and in the pages of the Tallahassee Democrat. He is also the appointed LGBTQ liaison to Mayor Andrew Gillum’s office.
