The Women's Concert; Raising the Volume of Women in Music

We’re RAISING THE VOLUME OF WOMEN IN MUSIC with a special women\’s concert and follow up music series featuring an array of local female musicians who enrich our lives, our community, and the music industry with their talents. The Women\’s Concert will kick off at WFSU Program Studios, and live on as an annual event and ongoing music series at establishments across our community throughout the year.

Background: Music’s importance to the human experience cannot be overstated. Its relevance to our lives has led it to become a $26 billion industry, a field of opportunity and enrichment. Despite universal importance, women have faced historical and cultural challenges at all levels of the industry, but that is changing. It is with great pleasure we kickoff The Women’s Concert and Music Makes Her series to raise the volume and oppHERtunities for women in our local music industry and beyond.

Presented by Women Wednesdays, Blue Tavern, Caribbean Center of Southside Tallahassee, and WFSU – and our Sponsors! Proceeds will benefit Women Wednesdays programming and music series development.
