Stories Told in the Language of Painting

Ken Misner is a contemporary painter who harnesses the expressive possibilities of color and form to create deceptively simple, primitive paintings that tell a story.

He works in oil – on canvas or board – and he makes some of his own frames, which become an integral part of the painting. His subjects are derived from dreams, memories, the daily news and the imagination. The subconscious is at work here, in both profound and gently humorous ways.
