One Book Thomas County

One Book Thomas County is a program based on similar programs across the country.  Once a year, Thomasville and the surrounding counties – as well as Valdosta and Tallahassee – dedicate a week to celebrate literacy and one particular book.  Together, residents of the community read the selected book and discuss its themes in book groups and educational settings, both casual and formal.  Community organizations partner to host various events, dedicated to literacy and One Book, including poetry readings, art contests, film screenings and more, depending on the year’s selection.

Returning from a three year hiatus, One Book is excited to welcome renowned journalist and author, Kate Murphy to Thomasville to discuss her 2020 best-selling book, You’re Not Listening: What You Are Missing and Why It Matters.
