Live Shakespeare and Feminist Folk Art

Co-Sponsored by the Georgia Council for the Arts, Southern Shakespeare Company will be performing The Complete Works of William Shakespeare on the grounds of Pope’s Museum.  Pope’s Museum is the outsider art environment of Laura Pope Forester (1873-1953).  She is recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Interior/National Park Service as creating one of the oldest art environments in the nation.  Her passion for using art to share the message of equal opportunities for women, partnered with her artistic genius has led to thousands from across the world visiting the site just across the Florida line.

There will be live professional theater, local artists’ works on display, and garden tours of Pope’s Museum and Pope Forester’s artwork.   Food trucks will also be available.
