HERo Conference

For a day and a half, HERo is hosting a conference at Florida State University to celebrate women in music. Guest pianist and Donne Ambassador from London, Antonio Oyarzabal, will be performing with the HERo Ensemble at Opperman Concert Hall on May 12 to open up the conference. The opening concert will include music by Caroline Shaw, Ethel Smyth, Libby Larsen, and the US premiere of the Madeleine Dring Festival Scherzo.

On the 13th, there will be many recitals, including new music, chamber music, and solo music by amazing women. There will also be presentations on mindfulness for musicians and what it is like to female composers. The last performance will be a lecture recital by Antonio Oyarzabal on his award winning album, La Muse Oubliée.
