Frenchtown Rising

Frenchtown Rising is held in the historic Frenchtown community on Macomb Street between Virginia and Georgia Street. It is a pep rally of sort with fun and games for families, food provided by local vendors, and live performances by international and national recording artists!

These events also recognize Frenchtown’s notoriety as being Florida’s oldest predominately African American neighborhood. The great Ray Charles, Nat Adderley, and his brother Cannonball Adderly were known to have played in Frenchtown in their younger days.
