Florida Humanities - Once Upon a Time in Florida: Conversations about Florida

This new book marks Florida Humanities’ 50th anniversary with a collection of 50 timeless stories from FORUM, the award-winning magazine of Florida Humanities. As part of a statewide book tour, Jacki Levine, the anthology’s editor, reunites with scholars and writers whose stories were selected to appear in this richly-illustrated coffee table book. At this first stop in Tallahassee, the conversation will center around Florida’s early history through the Civil War, its relevance today, as well as what it means to write engaging historic stories for a modern audience.

The program begins with a reception at 5:30 pm and the discussion starts at 6:30 pm. The panel includes:
