"Due Artisti" at The Sound Bar

Due Artisti (pronounced “DOO-ay ar-TEE-stee”) specialize in classic and alternative rock plus their own “sultry” originals.  Due Artisti (Due for short) means “two artists” in Italian; the duo has been delighting audiences in Tallahassee and the coastal Big Bend since the couple began their musical adventure in 2018.  Michael Schad’s virtuoso electric guitar lead and Celia Caputi’s lead vocals, rhythm guitar, and spoken word performances are fleshed out by a state-of-the-art backup band (“Ralph” by name) to infectiously danceable effect.  The duo has performed at The Riverside Café in St. Marks, The Shack in St. Marks, The Southside Farmer’s Market, and various festivals and open mics in Tallahassee and Crawfordville; they perform regularly at The Palaver Tree Theater in Crawfordville, where they also helped initiate a popular series of benefit concerts and musical events, in collaboration with theater founder and artistic director, Herb Donaldson.  Nicknamed “The Sonny & Cher of Shell Point” as a result of their frequent participation in their neighborhood’s private “beach jams,” Due (who, curiously enough, do not cover Sonny & Cher) enjoy leaving their thumbprint on the well-loved tunes they present through creative musical re-interpretation and occasional interjection of spoken word poetry, original or borrowed (Caputi is an FSU English professor by day).  Their “Shakespearean” version of Cream’s “Sunshine of Your Love” is a particular crowd-pleaser.  Due Artisti are excited to be one of the inaugural acts at The Sound Bar.
