Part of the historic Workers' Cemetery at Pebble Hill Plantation
In honor of Black History Month, Pebble Hill Plantation Curator, Lori Curtis, will present a tour through the Workers’ Cemetery. The Workers’ Cemetery is the resting place for many men, women, and children who lived and worked at Pebble Hill.
n 2013, Pebble Hill reached out to Thomas University in Thomasville, GA to document the site and to map the graves in the Pebble Hill Workers' Cemetery using GIS and GPS technology. That project identified 94 named graves and about 100 marked graves without names. The oldest marked and named grave dates to 1896.
