The Equal Rights Amendment

Speaker: Dr. Jennifer Koslow, Associate Professor of History at Florida State University

The earliest version of the Equal Rights Amendment guaranteeing equal rights under the Constitution regardless of sex was proposed in 1923. However, it was not until 1972 that a version of the amendment was passed by Congress and sent to the states for ratification.
