Holiday Open Houses in Quincy and Last Day to view the Southern Quilting Exhibition

On Saturday, December 14 downtown organizations will host Holiday Open Houses in Quincy, GACM will feature special Holiday activities in the ArtZone admission-free, it is the last day of our Southern Quilting exhibition and Dean Mitchell will be in Quincy that day and host a special, one day only exhibition of his Miniatures at the Marie Brooks Gallery across the square.

Dean Mitchell’s miniatures present both Urban and Rural American – vanishing farmlands and buildings that once stood as giant symbols of the american economy. The figurative works are powerful portrayals of modern day concerns of the symbols of fashion in the hip hop culture among the poor who are marginalized in poverty.
