The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park invites you to join us as we demonstrate how to air layer camellias.
Air layering is a reliable method of reproducing good-sized plants in one year. The best time of year to air layer is in the spring when the plants are actively growing. Air layering is a process that can be completed in one season where the rooting medium is in the air rather than in the ground or soil. Park staff will demonstrate how to air layer as they walk through the steps required to achieve success with this type of propagation
