Due to the expected inclement weather this weekend, the Crooked River Lighthouse feels it is necessary to reschedule Lantern Fest. Lantern Fest will instead be held one day later, on Sunday, October 20. The time will remain the same, 6-10 pm at Crooked River Lighthouse, 1975 U.S. Highway 98 West, Carrabelle, FL.

We understand that there is a chance that the bad weather could be clear of the area prior to the original Lantern Fest schedule. However there remains too much uncertainty about the timing of the storm and the timing of continued rain in the area. Therefore we feel that it is more important to ensure the well-being of our visitors traveling into the area, the Crooked River Lighthouse staff, and our event volunteers.

We are thrilled that our Celtic musicians, Aisha Ivey & Stephen Hodges, our dramatic reading performer, River Sheridan, our blacksmith, John Pfund, and our food vendor, Marine Street Grill have all committed to attending on Sunday. Unfortunately the TCC Dancers will not be able to participate on Sunday. Lantern Fest will now be celebrated on SUNDAY, October 20 from 6-10 pm at Crooked River Lighthouse, Carrabelle Beach, FL. This unique festival is best known for its breathtaking display of over a hundred colorful and handmade lanterns hanging throughout the park. Lantern Fest lights up the night with magic and history at the 1895 maritime landmark. Admission for Lantern Fest is just $5 for adults and $1 for children (6-16) for an evening of music, drama, night tower climbs, glowing lanterns and yummy food.

Amazing Celtic music by Aisha Ivey & Stephen Hodges
Dramatic Reading by River Sheridan of the last keeper of the Dog Island Light.
Special Evening Tower Climbs, Adult $5, Child $3 (must be 44” tall)
Blacksmithing Demo

Featured at this year’s event will be a performance of diverse ethnic tunes from the gifted duo, Aisha Ivey and Stephen Hodges. Aisha Ivey has won the southeast United States Scottish Fiddle Championship for 10 years in a row. Stephen Hodges plays an amazing array of instruments in a variety of styles.

Performances of dancers and music will be alternated so that guests can easily see both. The entertainment for this enchanting evening event will start early in the evening to accommodate multiple performances. Be sure to come early and watch a fascinating blacksmithing demonstration by John Pfund, and save yourself a good spot for the entertainment. Don’t forget to bring a chair and a lantern to comfortably enjoy the incredible  performances, all while under the glowing, hanging lanterns and the night sky. Many of the lanterns in the park are handmade in the various lantern making workshops.
