Making Light Has Talent!

Making Light Has Talent!

Presented by Making Light Productions at Making Light Productions

Making Light has TALENT, and we can't wait to show it off!  During "Making Light Has Talent" Camp we'll work toward a talent show at the end of the week, during which one lucky camper will win the prize of a semester of free musical theatre classes!  Campers attending "Making Light Has Talent" camp will learn group songs, group dances, and have the opportunity to work on solo performances for the final talent show on Friday, July 27.

In vocal classes, they'll practice microphone techniques and stage presence.  In dance class, they will learn how to quickly pick up routines for auditions -- as well as learn fun line dances that anyone can master.  In addition, they will create costumes and props for the performances and help decorate the set for the big show.  Weather permitting, we will also take a "walking field trip" to the Challenger Learning Center Imax Theater on Friday

The "Making Light Has Talent" Show will take place on Friday, July 27 at 4:30, and friends and family members are invited to attend!

About Summer Camp at Making Light Productions

MLP is conveniently located in downtown Tallahassee at 355 N. Monroe, one block north of Tennessee St., at the corner of Monroe and Virginia (next to Hotel Duval). Our performing arts camps runs 8:30 - 5:30 each day, during which campers rotate between music, art, dance and theatre.  We have camp every week of the summer, except the week of 4th of July.

We accept campers ages 5-16, and we welcome children of all abilities. Our maximum number of campers is 20 students, divided by age group, and we have a ratio of at least one adult staff member to ten students at all times. Campers bring their own lunches, which we eat together in a communal dining area at around 12 pm each day. We provide a morning and afternoon snack (please alert us in writing of any food allergies or sensitivities ASAP), and weather permitting, we walk to a park once a day for an outdoor snack "picnic" and/or another outdoor activity.

After lunch each day, campers will enjoy 1.5 hours of quiet time, during which an age-appropriate movie related to the weekly theme will be shown on the big screen, and campers will have the option of watching the movie, drawing or reading in the Quiet Room, or playing on electronic devices. (Electronic devices are only allowed out during free time.)
