This February, Wiregrass Gallery features emerging student artist Gracie Glaccum.
From a young age, Gracie has been interested in art of all forms. As she grew older, she found her love for drawing three subjects; eyes, hands, and landscapes. “There is something so special about landscapes that you can’t help but pause and stare, letting your eyes roam along the paint. Many times during the day, I lose awareness of whatever I was doing and daydream.” Gracie’s painting reflects some of what she has seen and fulfills her desire to express what she imagines reality could be. Gracie attends Thomasville Scholars Academy and has received many awards for her artwork, including a YAM 2022 Honorable Mention and second place in the 2021 Deep South Fair.
