Are you ready for your close-up?!  Making Light is zooming in on FILMMAKING at this summer camp – from first read-through, through shooting and editing the film, to the final red carpet premiere! Our aspiring Oscar winners will learn about the history of filmmaking, acting for the camera, stop motion animation, and even the practical side of editing their own films made at home. The camper/filmmakers in “Let’s Make a Movie” camp meet each weekday morning 8:45-12:30 July 11 - 22 to plan and execute their film projects.  Campers will be divided into groups of cast/crews to make several short films, from silent comedies in the style of Buster Keaton classics, to mysteries to science fiction adventures.  On Friday, July 22, we will hold a mini film festival in the Making Light Theatre and screen our movies!  (“Let’s Make a Movie” campers are welcome to bring their own filmmaking devices from home (iPad, phone, laptop, etc.) to use at camp, but that is NOT required!) Campers who wish to spend the whole day with us can also sign up for the afternoon Broadway Time Machine musical theatre camp.  To keep everyone healthy and safe, the maximum number of campers is 18 for this week. Please note that your camper's spot is not guaranteed until a 50% tuition deposit is paid.
