The Meridian Marker serves as the beginning point for Florida’s Prime Meridian of the north, south, east and west surveying lines. The spot is marked by a round metal disk set into a 30-foot-long granite map of Florida.
Cascades Park, near the amphitheater.
Meridian originally marked in 1824 and re-dedicated on November 15, 2013.

I don't understand why they couldn't preserve the marker from 1925 instead of destroying it and replacing it with a map of the state. Truly sad that nothing is sacred today. As a lifelong surveyor I would like to have seen it left intact.
