Greetings from Tallahassee

An artistic collaboration with local artist Kollet Hardeman, Railroad Square Management and Mountain Shore Properties

The mural is a modern, artistic interpretation of the vintage “Greetings from Tallahassee” postcard. Each letter of “Tallahassee” features iconic imagery representing the city or the art district. Some of the images are traditional mainstays, such as the Historic Capitol, canopy roads, FSU, and FAMU, while others are less predictable and more arts-focused. Two particularly meaningful images include the artwork of Dr. Ron Yrabedra, a retired FAMU Art Professor and the longest-term artist in Railroad Square, as well as a sculpture of the late Charles Hook, the FSU Sculpture Professor known for his instructional iron pours. The mural represents a collaboration between Railroad Square and Mountain Shore Properties, both family-run businesses, and artist Kollet Hardeman. The mural is particularly meaningful for the artist herself: “Growing up in Tallahassee, each of these letters is representative of a memory that makes the project so very personal to me,” says Hardeman.

The mural has been generously sponsored by Mountain Shore Properties, developer of the new Hyatt House at Railroad Square.
