Capital City Band of Tallahassee Community College and the TCC Jazz Band provide volunteer musicians the opportunity to play together and to perform for the community. Lisa M. Foltz serves as TCC Director of Bands.

Capital City Band of TCC

Capital City Band of TCC presents two concerts per season in Tallahassee Community College’s Turner Auditorium. In addition, we annually play concerts at Westminster Oaks Retirement Community’s Maguire Center, at the Tallahassee Senior Center, at Springtime Tallahassee before the parade, and at Tallahassee’s Winter Festival. Music selections are from the standard concert band repertoire enjoyed by young and old alike.

Rehearsals are Mondays, 7:15 to 9:00 p.m. in room CH165 of the Communications and Humanities building on the campus of Tallahassee Community College, 444 Appleyard Dr., Tallahassee, FL 32304. The season runs September through July.

Membership is open to capable instrumentalists, including college students, on a volunteer basis.  An audition is not required to join the concert band, but any person wishing to join should be able to read music and play their instrument at an adequate level of proficiency. In most cases, band members must provide their own instruments.

TCC Jazz Band

The TCC Jazz Band performs at a variety of venues and festivals throughout the greater Tallahassee area. Music played by this group includes Big Band, jazz, blues, pop, and light rock.

Rehearsals are Wednesdays, 7:15 to 9:00 p.m. in room CH165 of the Communications and Humanities building on the campus of Tallahassee Community College, 444 Appleyard Dr., Tallahassee, FL 32304. The season runs September through July.

Membership. The jazz band is open to community members, including college students, as an outlet to learn and perform a wide variety of stage band music from traditional Big Band to more modern arrangements of blues, swing, rock, and pop music. Due to instrumentation limitations, an audition may be required for this group. In most cases, band members must provide their own instruments.
