Pyramid Productions is the umbrella for performing artist Baba Olusegun Williams. Baba Olusegun is a modern Griot specializing in the culture, folklore, history and music of the African Diaspora. He plays Kalimba (aka “thumb piano”), Shekere (a beaded gourd), and a variety of percussion instruments. Baba Olusegun is also a storyteller who has been featured annually at the Florida African Dance Festival. He is a founding menber of Phoenix Uprising Reggae Band which was very popular in Tallahasse during the decade of the 90’s. Phoenix Uprising played the first Downtown Getdown and was selected in 1994 to be a part of the Bob Marley Festival Tour. Currently, Olusegun plays with The Sirius Project on Friday nights at Nefetari’s Fine Cuisine and Spirits, 812 S. Macomb Street. The Sirius Project plays and eclectic mix of music in several genres, including jazz, blues, latin, and reggae.
