The LeRoy Collins Leon County Public Library is hosting its 3rd annual Community Gingerbread House Competition on December 4th. This is a family-friendly event featuring virtual and in-person components.
Join the LeRoy Collins Leon County Public Library in-person and participate in its 3rd Annual Community Gingerbread House Competition on December 4th! This family-friendly competition, as well as other virtual and in-person competition events, including a virtual gingerbread house competition, a virtual gingerbread fan art competition, and fun grab-and-go bags for youth are taking place throughout the month of November and early December. Prizes for all ages will be awarded for the best houses and fan art. The LeRoy Collins Leon County Main Library will also be hosting a youth STEAM event, Andy’s Room Life-Sized Toy Box, on the day of the in-person gingerbread house competition. Drop off houses at the Leon County Main Library on Friday, December 3 from 5 - 6 p.m. or on Saturday, December 4 from 10 - 11 a.m.
There will be gift card prizes for the best child, teen and adult, fanart, and virtual submissions
Saturday, December 4:
Judging will take place from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Public viewing will take place from 1 - 3 p.m.
Awards will be announced at 2 p.m.
Pickup will from 3 - 5 p.m.
Sunday, December 5:
Pickup of houses will be from 1 - 6 p.m.
*We are not able to store houses beyond Sunday, December 5.
